I was very curious of Hotel J on Stockholm suburbs. Far away from the city centre, the best way to get there is by ferry, very nice surrondings, sailling style, close to nature… Sounds like perfect place to rest. And it was perfect place to rest!
My room, which you can see on pictures, was very stylish. It was, lets say, well styled. A bit of sailing atmosphere, but not too much that you feel overhelmed. Stripped douvet was adding a little bit of a homey feel. And a lot of wood.
Whole hotel is in this style. Simple, elegant. Cosy.
Breakfast is served in different building, next to the bay so you can eat and look at blue sky and water. What a perfect (and delicious) start of the day! The building is used also for meetings and conferences. I had a chance to have a look at rooms there- marvelous!
Surroning is very nice. Marina, forest, small village. It is perfect place to come for weekend, but not only. The only disadvantage is that is quite long way to the city centre if you want to be there. But on the other hand, after work or some meetings you can just feel like on holidays. I woke up for yoga early in the morning and saw big ferry passing by, withaout any noise!
I very recommend this place, when weather is nice (I know, it is very hard to predict weather in Sweden. Actually you can assume it gonna be awful, but sometimes it may change :)) But if there are chances of sun (end of May- end of August) it will be very nice time!
How to get there:
If you are in the city centre the best way is to take a ferry (although not posiible during night). The one I was travelling is number 80 from Nybroplan. This was additional fun for me because I love water and ferries 🙂
